We Are Moo Duk Kwan

We live the legacy of Moo Duk Kwan, a traditional Korean martial arts organization founded in 1945, known for its speed, power, and adherence to historical techniques.

Our organization is still the largest of the five original Kwans established before the Korean war and we still hold true to the tradition and meaning of Moo Duk Kwan.

School of Martial Virtue

The lasting legacy of Moo Duk Kwan is in its name:

"Martial Virtue"

This means that the superior martial arts skills found in our traditional training is equally combined with the highest upstanding moral character. Not only should a Moo Duk Kwan practitioner give their everything in their development of martial skills, but a strong moral compass should also be formed as each student grows in training. Our Kwan members should demonstrate excellent ethical values and principles along with a deep sense of self-disciple to not only become the best they can be but to be a guiding light to others around them to help them achieve as well.

Martial Virtue in the Moo Duk Kwan emulates inner fruits such as respect for self and others, courage to do what's right even when it is hard to achieve, integrity among our fellow man, honesty without compromise, kindness, compassion and empathy toward both friend and foe.

Lastly, we carry within ourselves a high sense of loyalty to God, our country, our heritage, and those who have laid the path for us to be able to grow and achieve. Honoring and respecting higher ranking instructors who have made our success a reality is a code of conduct that should never be broken.

These are our life fruits that set the Moo Duk Kwan apart from all others.

Korean Heritage

Heritage, history, and culture continue to drive us as we move forward in growing our great Kwan.
